Who sculpture the monument of Jose Rizal in luneta?

The Rizal Monument in Luneta was not the work of a Filipino but a Swiss sculptor named Richard Kissling. His design “Motto Stella” (Guiding Star) only won 2nd place in the competition to sculpt the monument but nevertheless it was him that was asked to undertake the commission.
