Why does my bunny hate me? PLEASE HELP?

I recently got a bunny from my friend, because she went to college. The bunny is about 7 months old. Whenever I let it out of the cage, it won't even come out of the cage until I leave the room. When she finally does come out of the cage all she does is hop away from me. I try to subtly play with her, and I am nothing but nice. The only time she MIGHT come over to me is if I have a treat in hand, and even then it is hard to grab her attention. I have only had her for about a week and I understand she might be scared of me, but what else can I do? I feel her, clean her litter box, give her hay and water and everything. Does anybody have any suggestions that might help her be less timid of me and perhaps even like me? Please help me! Thank you.
