What is deforestation ?

Deforestation is cutting down of trees in wide areas, such as in forests. It takes place to make room for human benefit, such as for houses or other agricultural purposes. The consequences would be that certain animals that live in that tree would no longer have a home and could die, therefore being fewer of that creature. People could suffer because there are certain tribes that live in forests where this is happening so they may not have a home anymore either because they will have no money. We can protect the rainforest by recycling paper and getting people to become aware of the deforestation that is happening so that protests can take place and the trees are not cut down.
