Car is Deemed a Total Loss?

My wife wrecked her car,flipped it to be exact.She Is Fine,,However,the insurance company decided to fix the car.Well, after all that and the car is almost finished,the insurance company says"it looks like we have repaired a "Total Loss" vehicle..So now they give the number to a total loss company in a nother state?What do we do next? What will happen to the car? Will we be able to buy it back at a discount?I'm LOST help please.
