Are we going too far with this "witch hunt" at the polygamy sect in Texas?

I remember learning in school that this country was built by people escaping religious persecutions in other country's. It has recently come out that the person who made the phone call about the alleged abuse at the polygamy sect was actually a woman who was never even part of the sect. Many children have died in the hands of child protective services however none have died at the polygamy sect due to abuse or neglect. Even if we don't agree with their lifestyle doesn't it go against everything we believe as Americans to invade their right to live as they choose. How would you feel if CPS came to your house and said you let your kids watch too much TV so you were neglecting them and they were taking them and putting them in foster care? or anything else equally as stupid!!! Don't child protective services go too far in this country, they are doing more harm than good to these children.
